Ever As It Is

The real is ever as it is.

Two Aspects of Compassion

Compassion always has two aspects:
one is that it's peaceful and loving and caring,
but the other is that it's ruthless and not afraid
to cut through something that needs to be cut through.

David Nichtern

Not Seeking

We are being compassionate to ourselves and
others by not seeking something other than what is.
For it is in being with the challenges before us,
not trying to find a way out, or something better,
that will ease our suffering. When we want to run
away from what we judge as bad, we are constantly
running and we never really get to experience life fully.
We miss out on the beauty as well as the difficulties.

All About Love

It is all about love ...
making someone else's
existence a little easier ...
nothing else matters,
I know this now.

Myself As Well

Doing as others told me, I was blind.
Coming when others called me, I was lost.
Then I left everyone, myself as well.
Then I found everyone, myself as well.

The Way the World Actually Works

Rather than vainly seeking the right idea,
we can gain more confidence and good feeling
by agreeing with the way the world actually works.

Never Stop Being Whimsical

You must not ever stop being whimsical.
And you must not, ever, give anyone else
the responsibility for your life.

The Way Appears

As you start to
walk on the way,
the way appears.

Jalāl al-Dīn Rumi

From Now On

Run from what's comfortable.
Forget safety.
Live where you fear to live.
Destroy your reputation.
Be notorious.
I have tried prudent planning long enough.
From now on, I'll be mad.

Do Better

Do the best you can
until you know better.
Then, when you know
better, do better.

Maya Angelou

New Freedom

I will no longer take responsibility
for soothing another person's anxiety.
If invited, I will gladly help another person
learn to soothe their own anxiety.

I will no longer make another person
responsible for soothing my anxiety.
I will learn to soothe my own anxiety,
asking for help whenever I feel the need.

Our Journey

Our journey is about being
more deeply involved in life
and yet less attached to it.

Happy for a Moment

You were happy for a moment
and you thought the person next
to you was the source.
