The Best for Our People

What I do know is that elders of most cultures
want the best for their people ... If my granddaughter
is threatened by terrorism, I will resist with an alert love.
Monsters move among us.

And if my Palestinian granddaughter is
threatened by American-made rockets,
I will resist with an alert and angry love.
Monsters move among us.

And if dim-witted zealots threaten to
ravage this earth, my granddaughter's only home,
I will resist with all the love and fury I still have
at my command.
For monsters move among us.

We elders want the best for our people.
